Safety first
I understand there were those who wanted a refund for the programme purchased and indeed any donations made.
My heart goes out to the many adults and children who must work tirelessly throughout the year to organise and participate in this splendid event and I can only begin to imagine their disappointment, BUT the safety of all concerned was of paramount importance and given the appalling weather on the night, there was no other course of action. All concerned in the final decision to cancel were absolutely right.

Let us hope that the changeable climate will be kind to us next year.
