LETTER: Set hospitals free from Whitehall
I hope we do not privatise our hospitals, instead set them free from Whitehall so that all the nurses, doctors and administrators can together make their own decisions.
Firstly, tell everyone how much they would save if the hospitals did not have to treat self-inflicted injuries such as smoking, obesity, drugs and alcohol.
Give these people two years to alter their ways then charge them for treatment, unless they have medical reasons.
