Across the whole country, large numbers of young people are participating in regional and national politics.
There is a world of elected youth leaders slowly appearing. In West Sussex 23,000 young people voted to choose their local representative on the West Sussex Youth Cabinet; it was in this recent election that I got voted into the Youth Cabinet for Horsham East.

Hide AdOver the past few years I have been getting involved in youth politics as I wanted to give young people a voice and make a difference.
I am a member of a group called HYPER (Horsham Young People’s Empowered Representatives) through which I have been able to join many projects to make a difference.
I am a member of the Free Your Mind campaign group, a group of young people who are campaigning for better services for young people with mental health issues. We held a convention in 2014 targeting this and the stigma surrounding mental health, and still campaign to make a difference.
The whole idea of young people getting involved in such movements may seem like quite an odd notion to some, but there is still a large amount of passionate young people out there.
