In support of localism
I laughed and said I hadn’t a clue. I was, however able to offer my friend a glimmer of hope, that in the future, such “Rotherspeak” may become a thing of the past.
Listening to Greg Clark, the Decentralisation Minister, talking on the radio last month about localism, one was given a possible vision of a bright new future in which East Sussex County Council takes on some of the services Rother is already amalgamating with other councils to provide, and local issues are left to a parish or town council.

Hide AdThis would, of course, mean that Rother District Council could be swept away altogether! The aims of the Localism Bill are to encourage locals into activism, and to engage with local communities.
This is clearly what town and parish councils could achieve, giving towns and villages alike more control over their environment.
So, in anticipation of a bright new future: Vivre the Revolution! Vivre Town and Parish Councils!Vivre Localism!
