I need time with my elderly mum in her Hastings care home
I am writing about the care homes in our local community. There has been a lot of discussion on this recently in the news nationwide.
My mother resides in a care home and it’s heartbreaking not being able to see her.

The care homes across our county have very mixed visiting restrictions. Some allowing visits, some not.
There is a Facebook group, ‘Rights for Residents’, that is campaigning for us families to become key workers, to allow us this valuable time with our families. They recently used a photo of my mum’s hand at the window of her care home.
I appreciate all that the carers are doing to look after the residents but we need to get in to spend valuable time with our loved ones. The loneliness and heartache not only for my mum but for us families to.
