Goodwill to all men
Unfortunately on Monday, whilst walking our dog Gunner, my wife tripped on the pavement near the West Parade clock tower, striking her head and cutting her nose and left eye.
Almost immediately passing cars stopped, someone called an ambulance and two female police officers arrived. Blankets, towels and tissues were produced and the kindness, care and professional help we were given in freezing conditions was truly wonderful.

Hide AdSubsequent treatment at the Conquest Hospital was excellent, caring and - despite being very busy - first class.
As often happens, I was so occupied with events that I neglected to take details of those that came to our aid, so may we, through your columnns, please thank those Samaritans who so kindly assisted us. Their actions at Christmas-time shows that there really is “goodwill to all men”.
My wife was discharged with stitches and a fractured cheek bone, but despite this all is well. The help we received made a great difference.
