Fun in the sun for Rudgwick show
The Crawley Millennium Band played a selection of arrangements of songs from popular musicals next to the tea tent which carried out a brisk trade in refreshments and delicious home-made cakes.
There were many trade stalls, as well as the popular Bric-a-brac, Produce, Plant, Tombola and Raffle stalls. The traditional games were a great success with parents and children alike; the Coconut Shy, Cork gun, Skittles as well as the Tug of War which was won by the Sons of Thunder. The races were highly competitive, especially the Men’s Race where one competitor almost took to the air in his eagerness to win.

Hide AdFollowing the judging, the Exhibition Marquee was opened to the public at 2pm. The scent from the sweetpeas and roses in the floral section was heady stuff, as were the exhibits themselves ranging from vegetables to photos, home-made liqueurs to children’s handicrafts.
The Companion Dog show, was held for the first time under the auspices of the Horsham and District Canine Society. The dogs behaved impeccably and appeared to enjoy their day in the sun as much as their proud owners.
Sue Beckwith-Smith presented the trophies.
