LETTER: Unbounded enthusiasm

Young Martins has clearly fallen in love with his adopted town - having arrived here equipped with a degree in psychology from Portugal - via Crawley. Such is the enthusiasm of youth.
Personally, I admire his unbounded confidence in the future of Horsham - a former Sussex country market town - now a sprawling suburb of Greater London and nearly joined at the hip to Crawley - with every conceivable space jammed with cars. I often wonder how the driver of circular Metrobus Route 65 manages to negotiate the Oakhill estate without leaving the cars parked on either side without wing mirrors! To my mind, those drivers deserve a medal.

To Pedro, the past is another country where they did things differently - a country whose values should be challenged - by a relative newcomer to our community.
For sure, Pedro Martins is a breath of fresh air but I do hope that he will moderate his unbounded enthusiasm occasionally - not everything new is an improvement on the old - particularly in Horsham - a proposed multi-plex cinema, for starters!
