LETTER: School places '˜shock' again

Of course there is an expectation that children will be placed in a ‘local’ school and I don’t dispute that is reasonable, but for parents to say they had ‘no idea’ and that they were ‘completely unaware’ of the possibility of receiving a place at the Storrington site attached to Steyning Grammar, is not the fault of the council.
As your report states, an information booklet was provided and the Steyning Grammar open evening reinforced this message regarding dual sites.

It’s unfortunate and I wish the parents well in their appeals but the reality is they didn’t give their full attention to the process and cannot therefore fully substantiate their complaints.
