The Queen’s Birthday: We will be lighting the beacon at 8.30pm on Thursday to mark HM The Queen’s 90th birthday. As we did for the Jubilee, we are making it a bit more of an occasion by marching up from the Playing Fields at 8pm. I understand that there will be a personal message from HRH Prince Charles to be read out beforehand, and we hope to have a 90 year old lighting the beacon - and then there will be fireworks! Well, you have to take advantage of having a Bonfire Society!
