New winners of name a gritter competition for West Sussex schools
Every year West Sussex County Council, in partnership with its highways contractor Balfour Beatty, lets school children name three bright yellow gritting vehicles.
This year Burgess Hill Alternative Provision College’s entry of ‘Grittinator’ was one of the winners, along with Ethan Schmidt, from Ashington First School who came up with Sussex Snowflake, and Rudgwick Primary School’s Samuel Milton with this entry of Ice Cracker.

The newly-named yellow gritters will be out and about in West Sussex this winter keeping the roads safe.
