New compound for Lidsey landfill site

A new compound is planned to cope with the amount of rubbish being left at the Lidsey landfill site.

Its operator, Lidsey Landfill Ltd, has applied for planning permission to move the existing leachate storage compound.

The proposed compound will have a storage tank area of about 420sq m to cope with the liquid which percolates out of the refuse placed in the landfill on Lidsey Road.

It will comprise three interlinked leachate tanks – compared to the existing single tank – and an associated pump control building.
