Damage costing more than 1,000 to repair was caused.
Metal thefts have doubled in Sussex during the past year as the price of scrap has soared.

Hide AdThe community association that runs the Pells pool made a profit last year and was planning to make improvements to the pool.
The damage will erode the finances available for that project.
The pool is due to open to the general public for the summer season in May.
Chairman Conrad Ryle said: ''Whoever was involved should know that they are stealing from a charity that is run by volunteers who freely give their time for the benefit of the community.'
