Medieval Conference puts town on academic map
It is the latest in a series of conferences which have seen Rye acknowledged by the academic world as a centre where the latest research in medieval topics can be presented.
The biennial event brings to Rye world class historians who present papers on their latest research before it is published.

Hide AdThis year’s conference, at Rye College, on Saturday October 13, entitled “Religious Realities in Medieval England” will see delegates from all over Britain and abroad arriving in town.
Prof. Michael Hicks, working with Rye Partnership staff and director Jo Kirkham, has organised an outstanding line-up for this year.
Rye Partnership director, Jo Kirkham, herself a local historian, said, “This is an apt topic for Rye, particularly with St Mary’s Church being such an iconic landmark. We hope that many people, whether they consider themselves academic or not, join us at Rye College.
