Lions make it a great day out for Bluebell line fans
Members were transported to Sheffield Park Station where they were able to have a quick look around the shop and the engine shed before boarding the train. The trip to Kingscote Station via Horsted Keynes and return took an hour-and-a-half. Members were served with a very nice ploughman’s lunch and were able to leave the train at Kingscote Station and buy ice creams and watch the engine being turned around.
Burgess Hill District Lions gave a grant of £400 which covered the cost of transport, the train fare and lunch, so that it was completely free to members! They all enjoyed the outing and expressed their thanks to Lions Tony and Val Parris who had joined them for the trip.

The centre manager, Tracy Olckers, said: “We are extremely grateful to the Burgess Hill Lions for providing this outing for our members.
“Many have reached a time in their lives when they find it difficult to get out and this trip was a real boost for them.”
