Lewes primary school gets new spacious classrooms

The work will see an old storage space at Southover Primary School in Potters Lane transformed into new three new classroom as part of the project.
Construction company Beard will also build two flexible group learning rooms and new toilet facilities as well as three new storage rooms and a new staircase which will lead to an emergency exit.

Hide AdGuy Hannell regional director for Beard said: “The new classrooms and flexible teaching space will provide teachers and pupils with terrific new learning facilities. We are looking forward to seeing the project take shape.”
Building work is expected to be completed in August – before the beginning of the new school term.
The project is being funded through Orbis, a partnership between Surrey County Council and East Sussex County Council which was launched in April 2015
The councils say the initiative is expected to save £8 million a year by 2019.
