PARKS: Hellingly Country and Roebuck Parks. At the recent Hellingly PC meeting, the following points were noted: That the transfer deed had now been signed and would be sent to the solicitors, it was likely that the transfer would be at the end of March. Work is progressing on the Cricket Pavilion, Council agreed that it would not be necessary to install an intruder alarm in the Pavilion, subject to insurance company approval, but agreed to ask the contractor to install the necessary wiring for CCTV cameras and a final decision to be taken at Council in February when more information was known. Council approved the list of furniture, signs and bins as per the notes from the Persimmon meeting. It was noted that confirmation had been received from WDC that the surface of the final playground could be changed from sand to something more appropriate. The sub-group who had looked at the furniture provision to look at the designs for the playground. A decision from WDC on the position of the allotments was still awaited. It was noted that the Ecological Area was still being cut with a low impact vehicle.
MICHELHAM PRIORY: The house and gardens are now open every day to December 18. Times are February 13 to 28, 11am to 4pm; March 1 to October 31, 10.30am to 5pm; and November 2 to December 20, 11am to 4pm.

HALF TERM CHILDREN’S TRAIL: Michelham Priory reopened for the 2016 season last week. Bring children with you and go exploring on an exciting trail. Every day right through half-term week until Sunday in the grounds if the weather’s good, or in the house if it’s raining. The café is open all day. RESIDENT PASS: The Michelham Priory residents pass will only be issued to residents of Upper Dicker or Arlington who visit the Priory until March 1. Only one pass per household. Proof of address must be shown in order to receive a pass (utility bill, driving licence etc). The pass can only be used by the two adults whose signature appears on the card, and they will be asked to sign in with each use. The pass entitles the holder to free entrance for the two adults and four children to Michelham Priory during normal opening hours throughout the 2016 season, including event days. The pass allows free admission to the Priory and grounds only. Any additional chargeable activities must be paid for at the normal rate. The pass cannot be used for outdoor theatre performances or any other ticketed event.
