Getting in touch with nature and natural well-being at Wakehurst
Groups of all ages were invited to have a go at the form of Tai Chi, which is done outside in nature, led by Kate Dixon, the only Forest Chi instructor in the UK.
She took them into the woods to teach them the mindful, slow moves of the ancient practice that originated in China.

Hide AdKate, from Devon, said that she was amazed at the popularity of the ‘taster’ sessions she hosted.
She said: “There is a real interest in natural well-being. Forest Chi is relaxing but energising too.
“It mixes the benefits of lovely slow stretching while enabling you to become mindful and enjoy the beauty and quietness of the nature all around you.”
The activity was a new addition to this year’s Bountiful Botanics, the popular autumn celebration, held at the gardens near Ardingly last weekend.
