For the first time, a portion of the money raised will be given to charity. The rest goes into the pot for next year’s event.
Money collected is being counted today and an announcement on the figure raised for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice will be made tomorrow.
Stuart added: “We ran out of bags yesterday evening, which can only be a good thing. I am genuinely excited about it as we have never been able to give money to charity before and it feels like completing the whole community project thing.”
