An assortment of frost maidens, ice queens and jolly Jack Frost, wearing eye-catching costumes, formed a procession down London Road to the seafront. The parade contained figures from literature, mythology and folklore and reviving a European tradition stretching back to the Middle Ages.
The Fair, which enjoyed cold, clear weather, was officially opened by local traditional singing group Rattlebag. A procession, which included drumming group Stix, made its way back to Kings Road, where a special festive market was in full swing.
