The man was walking home from the pub when someone punched him in the head from behind on St John’s Road at around 4pm.
He hit his head on a car as he fell unconscious, with no clue as to who did it, but when the victim came to his senses, the assailant had gone but nothing was stolen.

“I don’t know whether it was planned or what,” he said.
“I would rather they mugged me but as they didn’t take anything, it makes you think why?”
“It makes you not want to come out.”
After the jubilation of England winning on Thursday afternoon, the football fan was walking home in normal clothes when he approached a man he thought was his friend.
When he reached him, he realised it was not his friend, and he was punched to the side of the head.
