Extension to cycle route

The trail, which follows the former Cuckoo Line railway track, currently stops short in woodland just north of Heathfield.

It will be part of the National Cycle Network Route 21.
Alternatives see minor deviations at the High Street end or next to the railway bridge in Markly Wood.
Heathfield councillors said they had hoped detailed plans would have been laid by now as they had been given a December 17 date for final agreement of the route.
