Wildlife area planned for Polegate site

The site, which is near Heron Ridge and the railway tracks, has been gifted to Polegate Town Council.
A statement from the council said the site has previously been used for allotments and rehousing wildlife.

Hide AdIt added, “Fencing has been erected along the new boundary with care taken in accordance with nesting season and other wildlife and nature onsite.”
Talks are ongoing about the way the land will be managed but it is hoped it will centre around the health and wellbeing of nature, the statement said.
According to the council, “There are exciting ideas coming forward, including ways to enjoy nature, forest school, community woods and more which may also be grant funded.
“All sensitive to the natural tranquillity of the site.
“This is a wonderful gift for the residents of Polegate.”
Residents have been told to ‘keep an eye out’ on the council website and social media to see progress made on the site.
