Elderly woman suffers broken leg after fall in Worthing

Police and paramedics were called to the incident in Broadwater Street West at about 5pm.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said the woman was in shock due to the car being close to hitting her, causing her to fall and leaving her seriously injured.

Hide AdThe spokesperson said: “The female was falling over in anticipation of a vehicle coming.
“She was alarmed by it and has fallen down.”
The incident is not being treated as a collision between the vehicle and a pedestrian, police added.
The woman, described as elderly, suffered a broken femur in addition to a broken wrist.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics but was described as conscious and breathing.
