PRESERVATION SOCIETY: Ditty Box Naval Yarns by Cdr Roger Paine. Roger will be talking about his amusing experiences in the Royal Navy. He rose from sailor in bell bottom trousers to a gold laced senior officer. During this time he served on aircraft carriers, frigates, destroyers, tank landing ships, the navy’s ice patrol ship, mine counter measure vessels and a submarine. Visiting ports in nearly every country. To hear his tales please come along to East Hoathly Village Hall on Friday April 8 at 7.30pm.
