Hide AdThe warning not to leave valuables unattended or on show has come from the Safer Arun Partnership which works to help improve safety for people in the Arun district.
People should keep their mobile phone with them at all times and not put it down anywhere or leave it unattended in bags or coats. Phones should always be kept out of sight while not being used.
Sgt Josie McKelvey, of Sussex Police, said: “These items are easy to steal and often contain personal information and photos in addition to the monetary or sentimental value of the loss.”
