COUNTY NEWS: Wonderful woollies take over Sussex pier
Hastings Pier has been transformed into a woolly wonderland thanks to the attraction’s inaugural yarn bombing event, which has seen nimble-fingered knitters from across 1066 Country creating some truly amazing seaside-themed creations.
Jo Stewart, CEO of Hastings Pier, said: “It’s amazing.
“Hundreds of people have been involved - community groups, schools, individuals - and the pier is covered in knitting, from a bobble hat on our camera obscura to a life-sized mermaid.

The wonderful woollies will be kept in place until Tuesday April 18 and there is even a yarn bomb trail for visitors to enjoy.
The yarn bomb has proved so successful, it is hoped the event could make a return.
Jo told the Observer: “It is something we potentially would like to do again.
