Countdown to Battle’s big weekend
The fun kicks off on Friday June 28 with a barn dance in a marquee on Battle Recreation Ground, with the Catsfield Steamers entertaining from 7pm.
On the Saturday morning the town will burst into life with a carnival procession, with floats, youth groups and bands heading from the recreation ground through the town to the Abbey Green before returning to the rec to herald the start of the summer fayre at midday.

There will also be a craft show, part of which will be housed in the marquee, with numerous craft, trade and general stalls of interest outside, together with all the traditional fete-type stalls and smaller fun fair rides.
There will be live music during the afternoon together with a barbecue, bar and refreshments.
The summer fayre is again being sponsored by Crowhurst Park Holiday Village.
