Chichester’s Tyrie talks of ‘great challenge’ to complete economic stabilisation
Mr Tyrie stormed to victory again in the Chichester election, taking 57.7 per cent of the vote and increasing his majority even more from 2010.
After he was announced the winner by returning officer Diane Shepherd, he thanked the counting staff and the team that got him elected.

“It really is the greatest honour to represent a constituency like this and I will do my very best at Westminster.
“I would like to end by saying that there is now a great challenge for the country to complete the job of stabilisation after the terrible recession and economic difficulties that we had.
“That job will require a lot of work. There’s certainly more to do. That is what I hope now to be a small part of enabling the country to do in the years ahead.”
