Busy Lizzie’s, based at the Scout hut in Whyke Road, combined its usual summer fun day with the anniversary celebrations.
Manager Liz Johnson said: “The day was a big success with both past and present children and families taking part.

“Children’s entertainment included a bouncy castle, Jiggy Wrigglers and Winnie the Witch – all of which were hugely enjoyed.”
To mark the occasion, two parents made birthday cakes and some of the children helped Liz and deputy manager Claire Kenyon to blow the candles out.
Over the past term, Busy Lizzie’s has been building a bug hotel in the garden with the children.

Liz said: “The family officially opened the Bug Hotel as part of the day and Busy Lizzie’s hopes that it will be a wonderful learning and exploratory resource for all the children.”
Following the fun day, a graduation ceremony was held for the 17 children leaving to go to school.
Members of staff read personal poems about each child and then presented them with a certificate and present.
