Bus ride brought couple together for six decades of married life
Mr Green had been Chistmas shopping and got on a bus to his home in Bedford Avenue.

Hide Ad“My home was directly opposite their bungalow in Chichester Road,” said Mr Green.
Their courtship ended in a wedding at Holy Cross Church in North Bersted on June 27, 1953.
“It was a very hot day. The sun was shining and a couple of my aunts fainted,” Mrs Green said.
The newlyweds moved to Ripon where Mr Green was based in the Army with REME.

Hide AdThe couple moved to Bognor when he left the armed forces and lived with Mrs Green’s mother until they bought their first home in Gravitts Lane.
Both aged 80, they have lived in Tangmere Gardens, Aldwick, since 1977.
They have two children and four grandchildren.
They celebrated their diamond anniversary with a picnic at Swanbourne Lake in Arundel their daughter, Carol, who arranged a surprise visit from Germany by their son, Colin.
