Brighton i360 meditation session for Martlets snail campaign
Snailspace, a fundraising arts trail by Martlets Hospice in Hove, features 50 giant snails, each uniquely designed, dotted around the city.
#BeMoreSnail day invites the public to take it slow on Friday (October 19) just like snails.

On Friday, people will be able to enjoy a 10-minute guided meditation at the top of the i360, for a minimum £10 donation to Martlets.
The event is organised by Snailspace headline sponsor Brandwatch, and Samantha Reis, who works in the design team, will be leading the meditation.

Samantha said: “Besides promoting wellbeing and good mental health, the benefits of practicing meditation are endless.
“At Brandwatch we offer several different wellbeing activities for staff, including daily morning meditation sessions.
“I’ve been guiding sessions for two years, but have never come across an opportunity as unique as the Sky High Meditation: a group of people meditating for a great cause, in a spectacular glass pod up in the air, overlooking Brighton’s vibrant scenery… it just sounds like magic to me!”

On #BeMoreSnail day we are excited to be teaming up with Martlets and Brandwatch to offer our first meditation session at 450ft.”
Imelda Glackin, CEO of Martlets Hospice, said: “Addressing mental wellbeing and offering alternative therapeutic treatments to our patients and their families is a key part of the care we provide at the hospice. The concept behind our #BeMoreSnail day is a simple one: we want everyone in the city to do something on that day which focuses on creating a moment of calm and enjoyment for themselves. A simple change, done regularly, can make a profound change to the way we deal with or feel about the many stresses we face in our everyday lives.”
The Snailspace art trail is currently live on the streets of Brighton and Hove with 50 giant snails and 57 junior snails positioned around the city, encouraging locals and visitors alike to slow down and ‘be more snail’.
Once the trail ends on Sunday, November 18, the snails will be auctioned to raise essential funds for Martlets Hospice.
The meditation event takes place on Friday October 19, with an arrival time of 9.50am for the 10.10am flight.
