Hide AdA spokesperson for the Department for Communities and Local Government said: “Bognor Regis’s entry was titled ‘Beautiful Bognor Regis: Overcoming perceptions and scepticism to regenerate a once thriving seaside town’.
“Bognor Regis has suffered from some negative marketing in recent years, however a new town centre partnership is working to fight back.
“The partnership successfully raised £650,000 from all three tiers of local government to fund significant physical improvements in the main shopping area.”
The winners in each category will get a share of £80,000 and expert training from Google’s training taskforce for 100 of their shops, bars and restaurants.
