Martin Smith will represent the south east in the St John Ambulance national adult care competition. It will take place at Croydon on July 5.

Martin's win continued the reputation of the Bognor cadets as some of the best in the south east in recent years.
A St John spokeswoman said: "The competitions provide St John Ambulance members, aged five to adults, a first aid training method of assessing life-saving skills in simulated emergency situations.
"The assessments covered the application of first aid, treatment of injuries, patient handling and care of sick patients in their own home."

Martin was joined by fellow Bognor cadet, Michelle Farley (18), in the regional event.
It was the start of a busy weekend for him. His dedication to first aid saw him on duty at the Bognor Prom 10k road race the next day. His younger brother, Andrew, who entered the regional cadet first aid category, took part and finished in 59 minutes.
