Members of Arun East U3A launched the initiative earlier this month, collecting bags of rubbish in the first operation on Thursday, January 14.
The new U3A Beach Clean is sponsored by Seaview Stores, in Sea Road, East Preston, where manager Danny Shah hopes to create more awareness of the group’s efforts and encourage more people to take part.

“Some of these details are being passed on to the appropriate organisations.”
The U3A Beach Clean group meets on East Preston beach on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.
The operation starts by the Open Dinghy Club, in Sea Lane, and moves across the beach from there.
