Appeal for showjumper
Emily Lawes was born with just one arm but the disability has not held her back and she continues to excel in her chosen sport.
Now however she is appealing for the loan of a horse to compete on and a sponsor to help with the cost of travelling to competition abroad.

Hide AdEmily is a teaching assistant at St Mary’s school in Wrestwood Road and chair of Bexhill Horse Show.
Last weekend she took part in a show held by the British Para Show Jumping Assocation, which was to be held in December but was cancelled due to snow, and rescheduled at Forest Edge Arena in Norfolk.
Emily was placed in the show jumping and came first in a blue chip qualifier for Indoor Event Trials - this sport is made up of seven show jumps and seven Cross country jumps in a 40 x 60m arena.
This was Emily first ever outing at the Event Trials and she triumphed on her horse Castle Keeps Three for Gold, an 18 year old cross shire thoroughbred.

Hide AdEmily commented: “I’m so pleased with the way Drizzle (the horse’s stable name) performed.
“It qualifies us for the Finals but unfortunately I am unable to attend due to family commitments.
“We have a busy year ahead with Para Dressage and Show Jumping in France where the Brits are usually well placed over the French.”
Emily has won in Chevillon, and had a second at Bordeaux where she rode in front of an audience of 3000 people.

“Should you be in a position to help a disabled working mum who lives in Bexhill please help by contacting Emily on 01424 819450 or email [email protected].”
