As festive parties and work dos are inevitably off the table in 2020 due to the pandemic, families are looking to go all out in their homes to try and spread some Christmas cheer.

And, of course, the most important decoration is the tree.

While some opt for artificial versions, which are usually easier to put up, buying and dressing a real tree can be an exciting festive activity with a magnificent end result.

But be warned, real Christmas trees have a short lifespan and typically last for about four weeks before they start to shed their pine needles.

For this reason, The British Christmas Tree Growers Association (BCTGA) recommends buying your tree at the beginning of December if you want it to last throughout the holiday season.

And don’t worry, as all the places we’ve picked out are Covid-secure.

Sussex Trees sell real, homegrown Christmas Trees nurtured year-round in the county, and with around 150,000 to choose from you’re sure to find the perfect one for your home.

They offer seven varieties of tree – like the Nordman Fir and Norway Spruce – including rarer species and their very own Sussex Fir; with a team of experts on hand you’ll come away with the perfect tree for your needs.

As an added treat, you can also visit the reindeer at their newer Goddenwick Farm location (along with the sheep, donkeys, peacocks, ducks, chickens, alpacas, dogs, and cats of course).
