Proper Neapolitan pizza and cocktails make NuPosto a recipe for success
NuPosto opened on West Street in April, and it's fast becoming a firm favourite with those seeking proper Neapolitan pizza in the heart of Brighton.
The restaurant is located in what owner Helen calls 'South-West Street' - the up-and-coming area of the famous stretch.

So we thought we'd see what all the fuss was about.
Inside, industrial-style meets warmth, with steel finishes matched with splashes of colour.
It makes the restaurant feel relaxed and casual but with modern and almost high-end vibe.
Patterned tiles, hand-drawn signs, and Italian produce adorn the walls - the city vibe merged with Italian fresh produced gives you the feeling Naples and Brighton have come together - and it works.

Hide AdThe service was friendly and attentive, and we were told the chefs are all from the south of Italy - so we were expecting proper Italian pizza.
We started with the Tagliere Di Antipasti (£8), which consisted of Italian cured meats and buffalo mozzarella. We shared it between three of us, and it was a great taste of what was to come - fresh and delicious Italian food.
We enjoyed cocktails while we waited for our mains - there was a great choice of cocktails from a Prosecco Mojito to an Aperol Cider Spritz. I went for the Passionfruit Bellini (£6), which was a mix of vodka, prosecco, cranberry, mint, and lime - fresh, tasty, and a perfect palette cleanser.
Then onto the main. With a great range of pizzas to choose from, we eventually settled on a Margherita, Ravello, and Amalfi pizza.

Hide AdThe Margherita (£6.50) is the real test of a good pizza. If you get the Margherita right, then you know it's the real deal. And it was. The dough was delicious: thin and crispy on the outside, but delicate on the inside. The kind of pizza you have to eat with a knife and fork.
It was nicely balanced between the tangy acidity of the tomatoes, and the mozzarella was quite mellow. It's a simple pizza with only a few ingredients, so it's easy to know if it doesn't taste right, but it hit the right spot.
The Ravello (£8.50), was also delicious. With roast ham, mozzarella, ricotta and wild mushrooms, this was a real homely pizza, with great intense flavours.
And my personal favourite was the Amalfi (£9.50), with spicy Italian sausage, wild friarielli and smoked mozzarella.

Hide AdFriarielli is an Italian spinach and broccoli hybrid, which is used in Neapolitan and Roman dishes. It was delicious, and the perfect accompaniment to the spicy sausage.
After a pizza each, we were defeated. The food at NuPosto was excellent. It's a great spot for a relaxed lunch, or for dinner and drinks in the evening with friends.
It is relaxed, reasonably priced, warm, welcoming, and serves proper Neapolitan pizza. What more can you ask for?
They say West Street is being revitalised and it all starts here.
