Westbourne House pupils learn to kayak in exciting return to school
Year 2 pupils at Westbourne House School in Chichester, who are six and seven, headed to the lake with great excitement and had an outdoor lesson learning to paddle and steer the kayaks.
“It’s so fun to be on the water and at school,” said one Year 2 pupil.

Hide AdWestbourne House School headmaster, Martin Barker, said: “It’s been a week of firsts. First kayaking lessons for our pre-prep children. First day at Westbourne for our sixty new pupils who have joined over the Summer and first full week of school for all year groups together from nursery to Year 8 - since lockdown.
“We are delighted to see the children back in the classrooms and on the games field, running about at break times and bringing the school back to life with their laughter and chatter - we have really missed them.
“School life is still far from straight-forward and we have to proceed with caution, but everyone has adapted very well to make sure we can teach and learn as safely as possible in our new environment,” Mr Barker added.
The move back to school has enabled Westbourne House School to host an adapted Open Day on Saturday 26 September 2020 from 9am until 1215pm.
