According to plans submitted to Wealden District Council, the ground floor of a property in High Street has been vacant since July this year. It was previously used as offices for a care company.
There existing car parking space would remain, and three new employees would work at the studio if it was converted - two full-time and one part-time. The site would be open 9am-6pm Monday-Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sundays, according to the plans.

Hide AdPlans say: “The applicant is looking to relocate their studio to the premises and considers this to be valuable use that can complement the wider High Street economy. The unit lies within a longstanding shopping parade and it is understood the premises was previously occupied by a care organisation but it has had a varied history including as a dog grooming salon, insurance offices and taxi office. It adjoins a hairdressers and florist further to the north and it is understood there are flats on the upper floors.”
In terms of alterations, the floor plan would remain the same with the two offices being converted to studios. There would be no external alterations either, other than a small sign.
Members of the public can comment on the plans until January 9 (reference: WD/2022/3181/F).
